you seem to be a very quick blogger. In just a little while, already many posts appear on the page. Keep this blog alive, don't left it like your first one. ok?
I feel so guilty this morning after listen to the morning news at RFA. My guilt was because: yesterday I feel that I didn't have a good life. I was bored. I was angry and upset just because my Sunday plan wasn't achieved. This morning I realized that "While I was spending my time useless, other hundred Cambodian were losing their lands, were dying for land, and were begging for life and food".
What is a good life for you? Well, since not helping others makes you feel guilty, let's do the opposite. However, of course, we cannot help every single person in need. Also, our grief just doesn't do them any good. Therefore, don't grieve, but "pray."...Wait a minute. Do nothing but pray only?
Nope. As cited in An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore, there is an African saying that teaches that "When you pray, move your feet."
We have to accept the truth as I said above that we cannot help everyone in need, but again, grieving is just a waste of time and energy. Nevertheless, doing nothing is just too ignorant. Therefore, let's do something for someone.
I, personally, believe that media can definitely help. Through media, people can be informed, their attitude can change, and eventually and hopefully, we can gain enough strength do something together in a powerful manner.
My girlfriend, Nana:), is a very good exemplar for me. Annoyed by people not complying with traffic law, she initially wanted to have a t-shirt imprinted with a message that tells people to respect the law for their own safety and social dignity. Viewed as a good cause by her friends and colleagues and even acquaintances, she got a lot of emotional and financial support. More and more t-shirts can be imprinted, and because of the message on those t-shirts, quite a handful of people hesitate to break the law. All thanks to her.
The point is "do something," and the least we can do is sending out messages via any kinds of media, for changes, changes for the better. The processes and the consequences define our good lives, I believe.
